To day's meditation as suggested by the 40-Day Devotional published by Love Singapore is about Peace.
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God." Matthew 5: 9
"We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 5:1
Our Lord is telling us, we are blessed people for when we are peacemakers we are recognizably the children of God. Children become like their parents, simply the result of observation, watching how their parents act and react. The do it without conscious effort. They have their parents genes.
We live so closely with our Lord, we have the mindset of God! We are not just peace lovers, but also peacemakers.
Let's pray this prayer attributed to St.Francis of Assissi
"Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved, as to love. For it is in giving that we receive. It is in pardoning that we are pardoned. And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
