Pentecost Sunday - Changi Corps

We were at Changi Corps (church)  this morning and what a great time we had! I think this was one of the best Sundays we've had! The fellowship was marvellous, people were warm and friendly. The congregation participated and sang wholeheartedly. We really felt the moving of the Spirit in our midst! Praise be to God.

At 9.15 a.m. Brother Danny Tong (I have known him since he was a little boy in Ipoh) came to fetch us. He now runs his own air conditioning company - Dantah Engineering Company. He and his wife Siew Khim originally worshipped at our Kallang Bahru Corps which later merged with Changi Corps. They have four lovely children - Eunice, Bernice, Glennice and Philemon all faithfully worshipping in the Corps and participating in activities. We give thanks to God for such lovely Salvationist families.

We began the meeting with the singing of William Booth's Song, sung to the new tune, "Thou Christ of burning cleansing flame, Send the fire!"  We ended the meeting with that beautiful prayer, "Breathe on me breath of God, Fill me with life anew."

We give thanks to God for those who came to rededicate their lives to God.

We went to Changi to minister to the people, instead we were being ministered by them.

After the meeting, Major Annie Lim, presented me with a birthday gift and prayed God's special blessing on me. Come to think of it, we've known Annie since she was just a little girl and here she was, standing beside me on the platform to give thanks to God for my 80th birthday. Her husband Major Lim Chee Kwee is now at the International College for Officers in London. Annie is holding the fort and doing well.

The church went through a difficult period, but thank God, people are returning to God and the Army.
We certainly will continue to pray for Changi everyday - Revive Thy work,  O Lord.
