The Feast of the Ascension, also known as Ascension Day commemorates the bodily Ascension of Jesus into heaven. It is one of the universally celebrated of Christian churches, ranking with the feasts of the Passion, of Easter, and Pentecost. Ascension Day is traditionally celebrated on a Thursday, the fortieth day of Easter.
We were reminded this morning of this day at our Prayer meeting. Although we were few in number we had a profitable time as we gave thanks to God for the privilege of prayer and brought our petitions and intercessions.
