Yesterday, we went with Major Pascoe to visit Mrs. Foo at the Tan Tock Seng Hospital. She lives just opposite the old Balestier Corps at Martaban Road. She has been a member and great supporter of the Balestier Corps for many years. She brought up a beautiful family all loving the Lord.
She had already purchased all the ingredients to make 'mee siam' and 'nasi lemak'- local dishes for the folk attending the Sunrise Service at Balestier Corps. But she had to miss Easter as she was admitted to Hospital.
We went into the room and sang two songs - "What a Friend we have in Jesus" and "God will take care of you." Then I prayed, thanking God for her life and ministry through the years, her influence in the church and her contribution to society. We asked the Lord to strengthen and comfort her in this hour of need." At the conclusion of my prayer, she opened her eyes and said quite audibly, "Thank you."
