A place of quiet rest

There is so much noise around us - the roar of the traffic, the noise from the construction site, the hustle and the bustle of life, I need to quieten myself.

This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says:
“Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved.
In quietness and confidence is your strength.(Isaiah 30: 15 NLT)

God tells us, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46: 10 NIV)

There is a place of quiet rest,
Near to the heart of God.
A place where sin cannot molest,
Near to the heart of God.

Refrain
O Jesus, blest Redeemer,
Sent from the heart of God,
Hold us who wait before Thee
Near to the heart of God.

There is a place of comfort sweet,
Near to the heart of God.
A place where we our Savior meet,
Near to the heart of God.

There is a place of full release,
Near to the heart of God.
A place where all is joy and peace,
Near to the heart of God. Cleland McAfee
