Just came home after visiting a 93 year old salvationist, Goh Seow Kiang. He migrated from China and first lived in Penang. It was there he met The Salvation Army and became a Christian and has been a faithful salvationist ever since. He moved to Singapore and worshipped at the Central Corps for many years.
He had planned to visit China again in April, but this now had to be postponed. What an encouragement to hear his testimony of the Lord's goodness to him all through the years. He told me he was ready to meet His Maker in heaven, but somehow the Lord has spared him.
I thank God for health and strength to be able to visit the elderly and the sick and share God's word and prayer with them.
How long will God allow me the privilege to serving Him here on earth, I do not know. Long or short, may I be given the grace to do His will. I pray this prayer by John Donne
BRING us, O Lord God, at our last awakening into the house and gate of heaven, to enter into that gate and dwell in that house, where there shall be no darkness nor dazzling, but one equal light; no noise nor silence, but one equal music; no fears nor hopes, but one equal possession; no ends nor beginnings, but one equal eternity; in the habitations of thy glory and dominion, world without end. Amen.
~ John Donne
