The world shares the grief and sorrow of the relatives and friends of nine innocent black people who were mercilessly gunned down by a racist young white 21 year old man. The victims were at a Bible class held at a Methodist Episcopal church. What a tragedy for the nation.
For PeaceEternal God, in whose perfect kingdom no sword is drawn but the sword of righteousness, no strength known but the strength of love: So mightily spread abroad your Spirit, that all peoples may be gathered under the banner of the Prince of Peace, as children of one Father; to whom be dominion and glory, now and for ever. Amen. (From Book of Common Prayer)
"First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2: 1-4 (ESV)
